StatSheet's SWAC Player of the Week for January 23rd goes to Mississippi Valley State's Cor-J Cox. StatSheet's SWAC Freshman of the Week is Alcorn State's Xavian Rimmer. And last but not least, Cor-J Cox from Mississippi Valley State takes home StatSheet's SWAC 6th Man of the Week. Cox put up respectable numbers with 60% shooting, 8 rebounds per game, and 3 three pointers per game. The Mississippi Valley State senior put these numbers up in wins against Southern University and Prairie View A&M.

Cox led all scoring for the Delta Devils with 23 points while adding 6 rebounds in a big 77-56 win against Southern University. He followed that up with a team-leading 26 points plus an additional 10 rebounds in a huge 81-57 victory against Prairie View A&M.

This is the second time this season that Cor-J Cox has been selected StatSheet SWAC Player of the Week. He has also finished second once. The runner-up this week is senior Paul Crosby from Mississippi Valley State. Honorable mention goes to Demarquelle Tabb, a sophomore from Alabama A&M. Christian Williams, who finished fourth, was the highest ranking player from Jackson State.

StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week: Alcorn State's Xavian Rimmer

Xavian Rimmer played an average of 31 minutes as a starter for Alcorn State. His averages in scoring (15.5 pts per game), assists (4.0 per game), and free throws (3.5 per game) were the best among all SWAC freshmen. In a 75-68 loss to Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Rimmer tallied 18 points and 7 assists. Following that in close 61-60 win against Alabama State, he led all scoring with 13 points on 57% shooting.

Amazingly, Xavian Rimmer has won the StatSheet SWAC Freshman of the Week 3 times. The runner-up is our own Keeslee Stewart. Honorable mention goes to Montrael Scott from Prairie View A&M.

StatSheet SWAC 6th Man of the Week: Mississippi Valley State's Cor-J Cox
